Ystad is a small coastal town situated in the South of Sweden close to beautiful surroundings and natural scenery. The city of Ystad’s uniquely downtown with its half-timbered houses and medieval and fantastic surroundings offers a nice setting. The author Henning Mankell’s fictional figure Kurt Wallander is an Inspector with the Ystad Police and the key character in a series spanning ten books in all. Within a year or so of the first book’s publication, Wallander tourists were already coming to Ystad. Now, 20 years on, the level of interest in Wallander’s Ystad is higher than ever. Our guide will take you through Ystad in the footsteps of Wallander and visit some onsite scenes from the movies.

After the tour of Wallander the bus will take you to the old medieval castle of Svaneholm. Here you will enjoy a lunch in wonderful surroundings. After lunch you can choose to talk a walk in the park or take a guided tour in the museum, which will bring you a history ranging 4 centuries, including art, old toys, funriture and much more. Amongst greater donations to the museum, most noteable is Countess Eva Ehrensvards and the Wallis sisters´s estate. One of the Wallis sister´s estate with gentry furniture, once belonging to the swedish princess Sofia Albertina, can be seen here.
